Texas Democrats Congratulate Project LIFT Candidates On Local Elections Wins

AUSTIN, Texas — Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa issued the following statement on the Project LIFT candidates who won their local elections yesterday:

“I’m delighted to congratulate our Project LIFT candidates on their wins in local elections yesterday. Through our Project LIFT program, the Texas Democratic Party helped boost these candidates as they sought to bring better representation to their communities. From city councils to school boards, I know these local leaders will work hard every day to make life better for Texans, and create key local change for our communities.

“I thank all our LIFT candidates for coming forward to run for office, and for being leaders in their communities. Although these municipal offices are non-partisan, Democrats are investing in electing local leaders who are champions for Texas communities — candidates who will govern in a way that promotes Democratic values today and will be our rising stars of tomorrow. Our winning LIFT candidates will fight for our schools, our families, and our communities, and tackle our state’s most important issues from the ground up.”
