The Austin Villager: The Austin (TX) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated Deputized as Voter Registrants

(AUSTIN, TX) – Forty members of The Austin (TX) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated represented the first organization to virtually participate in an extensive Travis County Volunteer Deputy Registrar Training and Examination for promoting and increasing the registration of citizens in Travis County and the State of Texas. The VDR Training was facilitated by Bruce Elfant, Travis County Tax Assessor-Collector and Voter Registrar. Matt Flores, Voter Registration Outreach and Training Coordinator, supported the virtual training. Link Tamela Saldana coordinated the training for The Austin (TX) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated. The VDR training of August 2021 represented the second instructional preparation for the Austin (TX) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated; the initial training occurred in October 2019. Volunteering, as voter registrants, allows members of the organization to continue to support community engagements while rendering meaningful contributions to the Austin and surrounding communities.
